engine dies
Well it fire right up today
I put a 1 gallon tank to the fuel line under the drivers door...tuned the carb richer...
....but then the carb would not stop squirting fuel even after it died
While it was running i remembered i left the charger hooked up, and when i went to go see it it was rattleling because of the engine and it almost fell, it would have probably shorted and burned up like my other one did...when i finally unhooked it i couldn't find my screwdriver to adjust the carb(engine was a 4K) when i found one the engine died...
....then i found out i forgot to hook up the tranny lines
so what makes the carb squirt fuel like crazy?I rebuilt it about a month ago.

Same thing I'm dealing with in my '66 Vette. Sunk float. I pulled and cleaned the needle and seat just to make sure there wasn't anything it preventing it from closing. Then, throughout the time working on the car, I kept adjusting the float--to...uh...get it 'right'. Except that in my quest to get it adjusted, I chased the float as it sank completely. Turns out, it's plastic and I've never had luck with them staying afloat. The good news is that they're pretty easily replaceable.
I'd check your needle and seat--make sure it's free of debris. If gas still spews, you've likely got a problem with your float. I'd start by adjusting it, but if adjusting it doesn't seem to help, replace it.
