Wow thanks for all the replies. I do have quite a bit of audio equipment being a young buck and all, that's how I grew up. My favorite music is Classic Rock though and I am driving a classic car so you gotta give us young guys some credit
I'm no expert with electrical systems yet but I'll tell you what I know. I have a 10" sub with a 600watt amplifier. Two 3 way 6x9's in the rear and two 3 way 6.5" in the front. My headunit is hardwired directly to the battery with an inline fuse. The amp wire, as stated before, is also hardwired straight to the batttery with an inline fuse. So I see no problem with using a 100a one wire alternator with my new stock harness since the one wire will be going straight to the battery through 4 or 6 gauge wire. And I haven't and will not wire into the stock fuse box.
I've also read that you can hook the one wire to the positive side of the starter relay. Am I correct in saying this?

66gtkfb what you put all that in a tv news van lol or are you cia or fbi. i was just making a point after the you cant hook it to the fuse box well duh. on the inline 6 question make you a bracket to hold it and find a belt to fit it.most auto part stores can give you the right belt just gotta messure it.
A 1-wire alternator will go directly to the positive side of the battery. The battery side of the starter solenoid is the easiest point to do this.
It's always a good idea to run new wire to high draw electronics. I bought a Painless fuse box just for these circuits. A second fuse box now takes care of the main lights, while the factory box only takes care of the interior lights. It'll be removed one of these days, when I get a chance to rebuild the interior 100%.

"19stang66", use no less than a 4 for your alt to battery and beef up your ground wire too. Theseare your week spots if they can't carry the current (meltdown). Your amp willtake about 55 amps at 12 volts to drive that sub, and thats only the sub. A simple way to estimate your amp load is, watts divided volts = amps. Your control wire needs to beconnected to a keyed power source.

"Your control wire needs to beconnected to a keyed power source." Are you talking about my the wire for my headunit? I was told if I ran it straight to the battery with an inline fuse I would be fine. I haven't had a single problem doing it this way. I also don't mind turning it on and off manually either. Thanks for all of the input guys.

Davis Unified Ignition has a one wire alternator...they make some of the best distributors around so i'd have to say their alternators are top quality.
