whats nice about exploder (GT40 / GT40P) heads, is that they perform well and are still a stock FoMoCo cast iron head. if you wanted to be "dated" you could use early 351w heads with a little work done to them (like i have for mine) but by the time you put hard exhaust seats in and do whatever else the old heads need your cheaper to get a set of GT40's and be done with it. tristatecylinderheads has sets of P's with larger valves and upgraded springs and retainers for like 600 bucks a set with no core charge.

Yeah, I've always heard good things about them. Im hoping to find a pair in the junkyard tomorrow.

It looks like tristate also has some aluminium heads for a great price.
