over heating question
So are you now using a flex fan, clutch fan, or a fixed mechanical fan?
I spent some time messing around with Land Cruiser FJ40s with 350 chevys in them. That's where I first learned the torment of an overheating engine.
Here's what I did when I found myself with a spare 10" electric fan: I hooked it to a solar panel and used it to ventilate my workshop on hot sunny days.
My plan for the cooling system on my 69 Coupe 5.0 swap (when I get to that part of it) is to get the biggest "universal fit" aluminum radiator I can find that will fit, similar to what JamesW has on his website. I'll keep the 5.0 clutch fan and try to modify the donor car fan shroud to work.

i ended up using a fixed mechanical fan, which is the stock ford flex fan. the vacuum advance was the problem. as for my old ****** jeep, a 4 row with a aluminum bladed fan did the job. im going to mount the spal electric to the front as a pusher, will look cool and will do something at idle while four wheeling on hot summer days, what the hell, ive got it might as well use it. im sure not trying to sell $250.00 worth of spal stuff on ebay for $75.00.
