An aluminum block (and heads) will go a ways toward fixing the weight distribution issue. The blocks are available in various deck heights. So will some engine setback, although you do start getting into firewall and structural mods. But you'd have ended up with that with a mid/rear engine arrangement, which also pretty much requires IRS.

I still think it's a pretty cool idea. I really like the concept of the rear glass showcasing the engine. Maybe I should do that with my ratty 68.

I wont believe it until i see some pics! Pics pics pics!!!

Sounds pretty cool though. How do you cool an engine like that in a car designed to have the engine up front? And do you build a "engine bay" in the rear? Explain it to me,, my imagination is only going soo far by itself..

I have a 67 FB myself and wanted something different and faster. I changed my 302 C4 into a 428 SCJ with 2 Holley's and a TKO-600 5 speed. With the engine bay full of motor and the 2 carbs on top, I haven't heard anyone complaints. I still like the idea of doing something different..thus the 2 carbs. Keep us posted on the progress. I love GT-40's and Pantera's. It you could get a ford motor to work in the space available...go for it.I didn't want another shelby replica myself either. I wanted to do something different. Good Luck
