Which Mufflers?
Cheers!
Perfect advice...thank you. I agree about the diameter as well on the 350's.
Borla, huh? I want an "old" sound...classic sound...when I hear the word Borla I think of a contemporary, New Mustang tone. That is not your experience though?

I guess most people associate Flowmasters 40s or 50s with "old" sound. Too my ear, they are too look-at-me-loud, to "tinny" at the upper sound scale when reved.
I wanted to get close to the sounds of the classic cars in the movies "Bullit", "Vanishing Point", "Deathproof". If these sounds rock your world, check out the Borlas.
But hey, it's all so subjective!

I went with the flowmaster 40 series on 2 1/2" pipes. I love the sound but they get a bit loud inside the car, I have been told the 40 series deltaflows will give you the same roar outside with less growl inside....
Yes, I'm afraid the Borlas can get pricey - with new pipes, mufflers, tips, labor it can run between $750to $1,000.
But hey, the car companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars perfecting sound. Porsche has an entire department devoted to it. As I said before, the right Va-room can signifcantly enhace one's driving pleassure!

Yeah, you sold me with your examples! Let's hear 'em....
I have only heard my car with the stock muffs and then glasspacks (I was young and stupid). What do you think the above mufflers sound like with GT trumpets? Does anyone have any thoughts? I think the trumpets give the car a different sound...a muffled, back-pressure like tone at idle....not sure what it sounds like from the back when it's rolling.

Just hearsay, I guess then but I have read a few posts back a while ago that didn't like the GT trumpets. I believe they stated that the exhaust collects around the tips and produces a black grim around the trumpet end which is tedious to clean. I'd be curious to find out about those tips being restictive tho??
