possible project, just a few questions
So your sayin a 351 would be my best bet, and yeah if we got a 351 ive already got him convinced to make it a stroker, im glad to hear that the 351s will fit in there though since that what my original plan. And im not sure if it was a T-5 he had it long before i even was in the planning lol, it was his car when he was a teenager, ive just heard stories from him and his buddies about how hot it was, i remember he told me that the dealership had told him that it was a T-5 and he said that they were real excited about it. I dont know if it helps but there is a pic in my gallery of it with him in it, not a real great picture but the only one he still has. Also do you think i would be better off buying a 351 crate engine stroker, buying a 351 engine and stroking it, or buying a 351 block and just building the engine up? It will be my dads care basically so money isnt a huge deal but we also dont want to spend a rediculous amount, i mean its not a pro drag car or show car, just a nice street legal pump gas car that rules the street lol.
Heres my dads old 65 T-5 for those that wanted to see it, he made it a pretty nice little sleeper.

I don't think that's a T-5 due to the Mustang script on the fender.
Jim
And then again, the 'script' doesn't have all the attributes of the word 'Mustang'. It may be the longidentification bar. Difficult to see.

I know its not a very detailed picture but i was talking to him about it and he said there was a T-5 emblem on it, again im not sure if this is real or not. Its not a big deal now because he doesnt have it anymore and when he did have it it was one sweet ride T-5 or not but i do think it was.
a 351w is a tigh fit youll need 66 motor mounts and brackets and special headers http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/headers1.htm has nice fitting ones.does he want another stick or is he like some of us geting old dont like a clutch and run a auto.
No it would have to be a stick, i mean we may buy one thats an auto but it will be a stick when its all said and done, we have our 2 trucks with automatics, this will not be a daily driver, it will be his toy that he may drive once a week to work and if im lucky i may get to drive it to school everyonce and a while, hes getting old but still likes to have fun.
