Didn't the Boss blocks come with 4 bolts? I was thinking of the aftermarket as well. Ford's R302's and blocks like the World Man-O-War I think, and Dart Iron Eagles are 4 bolts. And the webs are huge, many of the 4 bolt aftermarket blocks are capable of supporting in excess of 1,000hp reliabily. You could also build a whole engine for the cost of just one of those blocks though

Yeah, but if you wanna build a 302 based engine that puts out well over 500hp and not have to worry about it, you're gonna need an aftermarket block like the new Boss or a Dart. That's what some guys have too, 600 and 700hp 302s off blocks like that with blowers. There are guys that build race cars with 360s (4.125x3.4 bore/stroke setup) with blowers putting out well over 1,000hp. And the weight stays down with the smaller block. Though the aftermarket blocks are heavier than a stock block, they're still lighter than a big block

ford made a 330 didnt they? im pretty sure it was an industrial engine, but that would probably be a BAD engine to build on

It was, but it was available in light duty trucks, where the 33x wasn't.
