rust converter vs. rust remover

Just rinse with water. However, I have dipped small parts repeatedly to make them darker and then just let them dry to get that phosphate and oil finish.Caution though, the surface is left with a rust inhibitor. zIt will eventually rust. you must topcoat, or use oil, like on nuts and bolt.

ah, gotcha - i'll get some of the HD brand and give this a shot to clean things up a bit, underside of my 68looks 39 years old for some reason

Thanks Coda 618. I just went down and purchased phosphoric acid from Home Depot and saved a bunch of money. Your information was very helpful.
