his opinions on cars is one thing, but like i said, if you go to any other forum, or the forum which i suspect you spend most of your time, even their admins will agree that if one moderator spends so much effort in talking down to other moderators, he wont be on the staff for long.

again, we cannot make everyone happy, all of the time, and at times, we are forced to make decisions that we know will better the forum in the long run, although some people will disagree. many of our 75,000+ members would say that the staffhere does a fine job of keeping this forum fairly civil, and i appreciate those who have PMed me with the compliments tonight. On the other hand, you dont care for how this forum is run, and you dont care for the staff, and i apologize for that, but there isnt much else I can do about it. I do know that this forum is much smoother, much more informative, and much friendlier than it was before I became heavily involved, thanks to our many helpful members, and thanks to the dedicated staff, who typically keeps their personal issues with each other behind closed doors.
I can see why you have that point of view. Most groups that have power have a common mentality (I am sure there is disagreements on subjects, but overall, you guys have the power so you must be right) and when one person strays or gets out of line, everyone stands with the group, wither the group is right or wrong. Like I have said, maybe Glen has been right all along, and you guys just can't see it.

matt,

maybe i can say who the next president of the US should be, even though everyone else wouldnt agree with me...but when a group works as well together as the mod group here does, when one person is CONSTANTLY getting into "fights" with other moderators, something has to be done about it.

again, he wasnt banned, just removed from the mod group. he could have just as easily answered questions as a member.

Also, I would like to point out that he wasnt banned, he was removed as a moderator, and thats all. Being a "regular member" doesnt make him any less capable of sharing his knowledge, but he decided that he would not continue to share his information unless he was a moderator, and that was out of the question with the recent activites.

hey my77stang - can you make the above quote font size 50?

for the love of all things mustang - pay attention. So he got his "powers" removed, why would he or anyone else care? What friggin' difference does that make? NONE - if he wants to keep posting, HE CAN KEEP POSTING.... but he lost his mod "powers" and now he has self exiled - sad thats the reaction. Yes, he was extremely knowledgeable - but to what effect if that knowledge seemed always to come w/ a jab attached?

A moderator doesnt even have to know a damn thing about the topics - as JamesW (or someone 72 pages ago) posted - mod's are just street cops, and as a street cop they are held to a higher standard. They watch out for spamming, personal attacks, threads in the wrong section, etc. In fact it'd be better to not have the most knowledgeable members as the mods ... why take away from their expertise by having them referee the internet gangs?

let it go....... you'd think he'd be happy to be a 'civilian' again, able to post whatever the he*l he wanted to. its just the internet, its all just tubes anyway........

some of you must work in places far more democratic than where I work. what goes for the public/customers, doesn't go for those of us on the job. you want to speak your mind, quit, then feel free ...

Matt, the flaw in your logic is that Glen WAS part of our group.

I started to type out a comment on Glen, but I don't wanna badmouth him. He no longer has Mod powers - that's it. He could still be a contributing member here if he choses to do so...

Soaring, Glen, Papa of ol Yeller - please continue to chime in on issues. Your knowledge base is awesome - please continue to share it with those of us in earnest search for classic mustang answers.

I detested your respect for Rush Limbaugh... but respect YOUR opinion to like him and respected you mustang opinions immensely. And that is what makes us American - the freedom to express our opinions whether others like them or not. Some of us have learned a lot from you and really appreciate it.

That does not mean we dislike the restomodders. It just means we liked and learned from you and do not want you to leave us.

I always liked Soaring, but if he leaves over the fact that he can't/won't be a moderator, then I won't miss him.

I mean if he was here because he loved mustangs (which is what I really think is the case) then he should be happy to stay with us whether he is a mod or not. But if he was just here for the power/control/ect then I could care less if hedecides to throw a fit and goelsewhere.

-Glen

I want to let you know you never pissed me off. I always felt it was one of those situations where we agreed to disagree. What makes these forums so valuable is the different opinions generated by a diverse crowd. This insures all the pros and cons of the issue are fully explored.

You help me with many problems and I am very grateful for your expertise I sincerely hope you stay with us as a member. I never felt any animosity towards your opinions as they often led to constructive debate over the issue (what more could the person asking the question want)

best of luck

Nick
