I also have a 69 Mustang and just got my Monte Carlo Bar (curved). I went to see if the holes matched but they didnt. I was able to get the bolts in bottom holes on the insidein with out a problem but the top ones I could not. The top part that supposed to sit flush where the two extra holesare drilled did not sit flush.

I left the car jacked up and will try tomorrow. Hopefully it lossens up. Is it necessary to loosen the 6 fender bolts on each side for extra movement? Any more advice?

Also, I didnt notice the notch. The bar did not bring one I did not notice the raise part on the Car. Will I have to cut a notch on the bar? or like another member said, cut the bottom half?
Thanks
Ruben
If need be, use tough lovin to get that bar in there. I got one side in and bolted it, thenused a rubber mallet to beat the other side down in.

Here, I think this picture will help you. Here you can see the "hump" and how I docked the lowerhalf off to clear it. Simple enough....

Quick questions:

Is it recommended to replace the stock export braces with a one-piece brace?

I have A/C - does that prevent a monte carlo bar from being installed or is there a work-around?

I have a 66 and it has been sitting without the engine in it for some time. I bought it that way. I am getting ready to drop in the motor and am not sure if the motor mounts will line up. I think the shock towers have moved in about 1 inch. Would it be possible for one of you guys with the brace to get me a measurement of the brace from one side to the other. How big an opening will I need to drop the thing in? I have ordered a bar and am in the process of "stretching" it back into place very slowly. Thanks, Jeff
