Default 6A Ignition box problems

I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to install my 6A ignition box from msd. I have a ready-to-run street pro-billet distributor from msd and a blaster 2 coil. After i hook it up like the diagram says and turn the key all the engine does is turn over. It wont ever fire. I "checked for spark" like the instructions said to do and i have spark, but the engine will not run. Has anyone had this problem? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought the MSD ready-to-run distributors don't use the external box.

Anyway, if you do have spark, I'm guessing you either don't have fuel or you don't have it timed correctly. Are you sure you installed the distributor and pointed it towards the number one cylinder while at top dead center, i.e. the compression stroke?

They do not require an external box but they are compatible, and everybody I've talkedto said it is worth it and will make a considerable difference. Yes, the dist. was installed correctly. I've been riding with it since Christmas. I'm pretty sure fuel is not a factor because it will run without the box. Just wheneverI try and hook it up all it does is turn over.

I already have a kill switch on the car so I chose not to use one for the box because i figured everybody that had a box would know how to get around it. Is the switch required for it to work?

I remember fighting mine for days. I had the same problem. I can't remember exactly which wire it was (I think it was the orange wire) that gave me the problem. Check the ground also and make sure it is secure. I remember having to run a 12V source to the coil as well. Go to MSD.com and use there tech forum. They will guide you through your problem. You can also do a search on here and over at MSD using my user name and read my threads reguarding my MSD problmes. I did not have a MSD dist at the time and my problem may not be the same as yours. The symptoms were the same though.
