I recommend buying a book called "How to rebuild your small block Ford" by Tom Monroe / HP books. It takes you step by step, start to finish and tells you what tools you need, how to do it etc. Lots of pictures, great reference book. There's a couple of them on eBay now for $10-15. Good luck
