Default hp estimates? help a noob!

I have a 66 c code 289

headers with 2.5" pipes all the way
4 barrel holley
mild cam
bored .030 over
a few other small things..don't count those [8D]

with those listed, what horse power would you estimate im running at?
a stock '66 c code - 200hp & 282 torque

another question - what was the difference between the c code and the k code besides the 4 barrel carb?

Id say approx 245 rwhp. I dont know much about the different codes beside the "k" code was alot more rare. Im sure someone will chime in and elaborate.

Hope this helps!

yeah i've been trying to look things up...and i found out the k-codes were Hi-Po

k codes had four barrels
and so did the code between c and k
can't find the differences though.

anyhow, thanks a ton for posting!
245rwhp...good/bad/mediocre for a 2800lb car?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but with your combo, you will be putting down no more than 190 rwhp. the 200hp is a figment of fords 1966advertising imagination.
I have much the same and thats where I am.
As for the K code. there is a website which lists absolutley everything. I can't think of it off the top of my head, but if you do a google search you will find it.
I believe heads were essentially the same, but they had a different cam, different exhaust manifolds, duel point dizzy, different harmonic balancer and a few other things.

I find that VERY hard to believe. Ford was actually modest when it came to rating their engines. I cant argue with someone who has the same setup, but it dont seem right to me [&:].

Its by no means a rocket ship. But with the 3.25 gears can creep into the 14s. To get any serois power, you need to go with aftermarket heads, and higher compression. thus allowing a bigger cam.
Stroking is also always a quick way to make good power.
If you are thinkingof building your 289 to K code spec to get some more grunt, dont bother. You esentially will be putting out close toK code power now.
K codes after all were still a budget motor. Aftermarket parts are far far superior to anything that Ford put on these 40 years ago.
I would also recommend you change your dizzy over to electronic if you havent already done so.
