How old is the fuel?

Add a clear fuel filter inline just before the carb so you can see if there is any fuel in the filter when it dies.

Remove the fuel line from the carb and point the open end into a cup, have someone crank the engine over and see how long it takes to dump say 8oz into the cup. It should dump 8oz of fuel in under 10 sec just by cranking the engine (no start)

All very cheep test to help find the problem. until you run some of these test there is no way to identify a problem child (it could be anything).

9 of 10 fuel problems are electrical. meaning when's the last time you tuned up your car.
