i cant believe you still had engine trouble after all that work. what was the last method you used when putting those plugs in?

you can see the lines from the door and the fender in the pics,...my friend has a 100% stock original untouched 67, and i think the gaps on my repo stuff are better then his OEM gaps,...i was super supprised at how well these lined up,...
my last method was to retap the hole, clean hole out with alcohol, acetone and wire brush pipe cleaner,...install new plug with JB weld on threads, and JB weld around the plug and block,..and it didnt hold for more then 30 minutes run time,...
i got this block at a great deal, so if this works, i will keep the car, if it doesnt, the car will be sold...i can not go through this all over again

i mean if you have went through what i have went through in the last two months, wouldnt you be worried?
we are thinking of rigging something up so that it can be run out of the car first,..the only problem right now we are having is where to get a extra bellhousing...

honestly i would have jb'd the threads after the first or second time it leaked, and after that i would have screwed the plugs in then ran a small mig weld bead around them to make sure they NEVER leaked LOL
its cool that the car is getting a 289 though, i like them better than a 302
btw, all that money in those heads and whatnot and you ended up with cast rocker arms? how the hell did that work?
crane energizer full rollers are less than 200 bucks and i think a worthy investment.
just food for thought

its funny, i actually look like i know what i am doing, hahah
well here it is all complete, timing cover back on, oil pan, balancer, water pump, dip stick, coil, crank pulley, fuel pump, oil pressure sender...
it sure looks ****ing pretty, i just hope it runs as good as it looks,..

actually i know for a fact you can weld cast iron with a stick and the right rods... dunno what kinda sire you would need in a mig gun though.
we've welded a few blocks up with a stick that had things like cracked starter mounts or bellhousing bolt ears... things of that nature
