turn signal switch
I replaced the turn signal switch in my 66 a few months back..it doesnt get driven but maybe once or twice every 1 or 2 weeks, but it's had quite a bit of use since the new switch, but it doesn't turn itself off after i turn..
well sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt and it just clicks...did i do something wrong? or does it just need more time than i've given it to break in or something?
thanks all for help

RE: turn signal switch
The back of the steering wheel has two prongs that extend into the path of the turn signal switch's arms. When you bring the wheel back around after a turn one of the prongs catches one of the switch's armsand forces it back to the "off" position. Without knowing if you have the stock wheel and hub, and if you bought a OEM switch for $75 or the repro for $35, it's hard to help much. Since it works sometimes, it sounds like an alignment issue, the prongs are not lined up well enough with the switch arms to cancel them. (The switch should work fine the first time without needing to get broken in.) Hope this helps.

RE: turn signal switch
I got the same issue,, a repair cam will fix it,, ( heavywe gauge plastic ) in my case I kept buying the after market ones and now I'm gonna but an OEM one and be done with it,,,, got my "prongs" set right when you look at the "cancel" fingers they should be firm or attached to the cam, because if they flex when the " prongs" hit then they go all over and won't turn off the signal off,, when you pull the wheel you'll see what I mean
