ting numbers an
Where can I find a engine casting number guide? I have a 67 v8 which I was told was a 289 but I have looked at the casting numbers and now i'm not sure what it is. The numbers by the starter are C90E-6015-c or 8015-C there are other numbers 9M4 . I looked at the heads and since they are still on the motor I could make out a 302 between the rockers but is that the engine size they are from?
you have a 69 302 since 68 was the last year 289 was available. C=60's decade 9= year in decade 0= fairlane/torino line and E= engine part. There is a decoder in the faq section if need more decodeing
This is from the FAQ sec. under IV. VIN AND PARTS DECODERS:
interesting reading if you look at the paragraph near the first head casenumber pic it says block casting numbers do not determine CID
