Default Ignition options

Been looking into an electronic ignition for better fuel economy and hopefully a little more power? I am running a 289 stock I be leave, not sure what PO did to the motor but is sounds healthy. Not sure what is needed to upgrade, distributor set up, modules ect? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Look into a pertronix unit. They eliminate the points, is very easy to install and has some nice features that a lot of other modules don't. I have one and really like it. Also, it is a whole lot easier than pulling the distributor if you don't have much experience with that. Then you can add on an MSD box or Mallory or any others to get multiple sparks.

yeah petronix is probably easiest and cheapest for you, if you want to go bigger and better look into crane ignition products, they are hands down better than MSD

A Pertronics would be your best bet as they are relatively Cheap and an Easy Install.[sm=gears.gif]

I would use the Pertronix Ignitor II and Flame-Thrower II coil together.

+1 on that. same upgrade hear. happy man.

looks kinda stock as the coil is seperate from dizzy.
Put in a massive HEI into a friend of mines car, and the airfilter won't fit anymore and stuff ...
easiest are the pertronix if you don't want to go spending insane money
