Yeah, it's honestly like 150-170 at the wheels, provided it still has good compression. 300rwhp can be attained out of a 289/302 in a drivable reliable package. If you have the money to spend, it's not uncommon to see350+ crank hp 289/302's that are driven regularly. Roller cams will make more power with better drivability. They can breathe more without having to run a "radical" cam. Roller blocks are common enough these days, you can still find them in junk yards.

Just make sure the brakes/suspension/drivetrain is up to handling the power. The faster you can speed up, the faster you NEED to slow down. And you don't wanna break transmissions and u jointsetc.

You guys are true gentlemans and Im glad to be a part of group of such informative people. This is my first classic car and more importantly dream car. I unfortunately have dealt with german and japanese vehicles alike and not that they are bad but there is nothing like a roaring V8. I truly appreciate your guys help.... Im going to list everything that the car has and basically you guys if you can give me any advice in what direction to having a daily driven mustang pushing anywhere from 300-350

rebuilt 289 c.i. V8 motor, C-4 Automatic Transmission. Edelbrock high performance intake manifold with 4-Barrel Holly carb, Griffinaluminum radiator, headers, new timing chain, oil pump ,water pump, harmonic balancer, fuel lines, batt., Aerospace aluminum front brakes, (9 in.) rear end with 411 gears and locker

What heads and cam? And exactly which intake, and which carb?
