Default RE: 1969 heater box ?

There are 5 nuts on the firewall in the engine bay holding it in, along with 1 small bolt in the interior. However to remove it, you have to take out your whole dash, I had to at least. The shop manual says you only need to remove the glove box, but when I tried that there was no way it was coming out, especially with all the ducts and cables attached to it.

and my car doesn't have AC, so you're box and vents are all bigger, so you definitely are going to have to remove the whole dash.

First take off the dash pad which is like 10 screws at most, then undo your gauge cluster and remove that. Then disconnect your fusebox at the firewall and all other wiring that connects to a place off the dash. From there you can remove the metal part of the dash as an assembly, which is around 11 bolts. From there you can do all the vents and whatnot and easily remove the heater box.
