What do you guys think about short tubes?
With all due respect to long tube fans, (sincerely) I prefer mid lengthand thenshort tubes on a street car, less dragging, easier fit, and mids/shorties are not in the way so much when working under the car.

By going with mids or shorties expect to sacrifice 10 to 15 HP though.

I Have those same exact heddman headers on my 72. The fit is excellent, and they look amazing! I had bought some of the blck painted ones and they looked like junk when they came in. I sent them back right away and ordered the ceramic ones instead. Definately a good choice. They are very much worth the extra money!

+2 on the Heddman Elites, look and fit great. I tried two sets of the Patriot Tri-Y and they had different problems fitting.
Noroof, whats your clearence on those headers? It looks like they are an inch from the pavement...

Wow I'm surprised how many of you have the hedman longtubes. Do they really fit that much better than the patriot tri-y's? I have the patriots and the pasenger side doesn't fit very well at all. I just thought it was because of my shocktowers sagging. How much are the ceramic hedmans?

Here is a link at Summitracing.com:

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

That is about as good a price as you will find. I bought mine from Summit 3 years ago for like $258 and that was the best price I could find back then. For a quality coated header it is hard to beat that price.

From that angle they do look pretty low. They are not too bad. I have gone over quite a few speed bumps that I thought would scrape, but didn't. I do not drive the car a lot, but if they did scrape I would not recommend them, and probably try some others.
