haha, best movie ever.

I convinced my mom to take me along so she could test drive an STi, and it had a crapload of stickers on the windshield advertising for it (reminded me of the movie), and you could barely see out. She was not happy after she realized how fast the car was, and decided Sti's should be illegal.

We really are few and far between. I've only met a few who work as much as I do. Some help their husbands/boyfriends/etc. a lot, though.

This last weekend my husband and I did an engine swap on my '68 convertible. Usually, I do everything by myself until it comes time to steer the hoist and then I need help. But I think he really wants to drive the car soon because he helped so much we got further than I thought we would. Next week, if all goes well, we'll be able to start it up and go for a drive.

I have tons more fun hangin' with the guys. I always have. I know I'm an oddball, but more and more girls are getting our hands dirty. The other day, I got a shirt that says, "We used to burn bras, now we burn rubber!" The key is working together... I dunno, I've always hated being picked on because "chicks don't know **** about cars", but if putting up with that and smoking the boys who think that way has made it easier for another girl unafraid to pick up a wrench or drive the hell out of a car, then that's great.

Well, now... I'll have you all know that my '68 fastback has been manual steering for 10 years now--4 of those years, I fought the ram, too. It never had power brakes. I know I'm one of few exceptions, but don't discount the ladies. Even at my tiny size, where there's a will, there's a way.

I love the funny license plate idea, but yeah, I'd still drive the car...like I stole it, too!
If I weren't already happily married (and if I was 30 years younger)....well, I'll leave it at that.

Toolwench you have to be the only one on here that can sit in the engine bay with motor installed and work. No way in hell any of us guys could fit. Thats something to be proud of!!!

Unfortunately IMO girls fall into the stereo types of garbage today and most girls will never know how fun it can actually be to do well.... an engine swap on the weekend or go for a cruise in a car they built... It is cool that at least there is a chance for girls to get into it....
