Default Painting my rims... How would you do it?

I am thinking I am going to go ahead and paint my VWW Vintage 45s... I am planning on getting some paint mixed up to match the current color and then go ahead and paint the rims. I think it would be best to spray it on but I dont have any spray gun or equipment like that... Is there a cheap way to do this?? I know it is hard to tell in my pics but my car is not black.... it is a really dark baltic/purple color. So the rattle can black is not really an option... Now I am wondering if there is a spray paint that would be close enough.... hmmmm...

I am planning on doing something like Tims65 did with his rims in my last thread on this subject. You know, tape off the chrome areas and spray it on somehow, presumably with a layer of primer below. Then replace the chrome caps...

How would you go about this if you were in my shoes?
Thanks all.

All right fellas, Thanks for this. I would have no problem paying $100 to have it done... I would expect to pay more but I will try to get out and get a quote soon.
Cheers!

yeah the rattle can paint will just chip so powdercoat is best.

but im not a fan of wheels matching the color of the car.

i know a kid with a sky blue 66 and he had his 14 inch TTD's painted the same color and it was [:'(]

if ur gonna paint em then i say either black or a darker gray.

Pull out your phone book see what they will quote for price and ask what colors they can do.

I got my front calipers powdercoated for 63$ and that included disassembly and assembly. I'll do it myself next time for the rear's if I decide to get them too.

How about black chrome? Those wheels look awesome...
