^ its also more money and i go thru the stuff like water. seriously EVERY time i go to walmart i grab a can cause i know i'll end up using it.

as for the gaskets with the silicon bead, they are fine and all, but even those i use permatex to be safe. rarely will you see heads or an intake that isnt pitted around the water jacket and those super thin molded beads of silicon arent always enough to make a good seal

Good info. I think one of the PO's of my Mustang used the cork parts of the gasket. I have a tube of that Black RTV stuff with new gaskets, ready to go. The intake on a 390 is flippin heavy! Good times!

+1 too, use a coupls studs when installing and drop intake straight down, I have no clue why they still include cork end seals about 90% of the time they leak or cause leaks.

Weiand specifically states, don't use the cork gaskets. I justp/u an action plus, and put a good qrtr inch bead of high-temp silly at both front/rear making sure to coat the corner at the heads, and let it set-up for 15 min before putting on the manifold. Also used the extended bolt method, with the heads cut off, to align the manifold first time. Worked perfect! I was amazed you could run that thicka bead and still get a good seal.
