Default Door Lock Issue

Hey everyone! I was hoping to find out if anyone else here has had this problem with thier locks. I have a 65 and the doors can be locked from the inside by pushing down the button, but they won't lock if I do this and then close the door. I have to lock both doors with the key when I exit the car. I have tried holding in the door handle button while the lock buttons are down, and this doesn't work either. The door lock buttons always come back up once I close the door. Does anyone else have this same problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? I will buy new parts to fix this, but I don't know exactly what I need. Thanks for any info.

I have the same problem but always figured it was just the way they made it.

I think they were made that way so you couldnt lock your keys in the car
