Becuase the rust isnt that bad in most areas. This car rusted in a very odd way. The cowl is rotten and so are the tips of the front frame rails and the very front of the passenger floor board, but everything else is ok.
I replaced the taillamp panel because it had been altered. I replaced the quarter becuase it had a bad repair from a previous wreck. Other than that everything is ok. My camera makes the rust color look about twice as bad as it actually is. Like i mentioned, most of the panels are being replaced due to damage not rust. The rear frame rails look like virgin metal on the inside. This car was blasted and then put back outside to sit-that is why the rust looks so bad.

The car is going to be dipped and E-coated when i am done with the metal work. All rust issues will go away quickly once dipped and ecoated gets in everywhere.
Thanks for your concern though and positive attitude~

I have seen way too many people get in over there heads with rust, sometimes costing in acess of 5-10k to fix the problem for a second time. I did miss your post on the e-coat though.VERY GOOD IDEA. Good luck!

A little off topic but I think your garage is interesting. It has brick on the inside. Most brick is exterior only. Looks like a nice roomy workspace.

How is the spot welder working for you? Have you been able to use it a lot?

It works well if all of the paint and rust is removed. However, i am using it in combination with plug welds. The plug welds are so much stronger.

Looks like its coming along great! Lol I had the same thing happen after I wet sand blasted our last month. Within 10 minutes the surface rust started! It was amazing how quickly the car looked like a complete rust bucket hehe.

Front floor pan patch almost ready for install

Trial fit of taillamp panel. I still need to cut out the metal for the tailamp housings
