Fairly new here.

I have a 66 coupe with a 289 2v and I would like to change the intake and carb to a 4v setup. Found an old offy 360 single plane intake for a small block ford for a pretty good price but the guy is not sure of the deck size, also not sure if my 600 cfm Demon carb will work.. Has anyone used such an intake b4 on a 289??

I'd strongly recommend against that intake on your engine. Single planes work well for high-rpm (ie. 6k+)use, but at the cost of low-rpm throttle response. Makes them great for built engines in strip cars, but not good for street cars.

Find a good aluminum dual-plane intake. The Edelbrock Performer Plus or Weiand 8124 would work great with your stock engine.

A smaller carb would also be a good idea. The factory Autolite 4100 is a good carb on a stock or mild 289 and it only flows ~480CFM. I wouldn't recommend anything more than 525CFM without some serious modifications first. Overcarbing can cause tuneability issues, specifically lack of throttle response at lower rpm's.

Thaks for the advance guy, much appriciated... now what if i get some smaller jets and set the neddle lower for that particular carb?
