That hose nipple is part of the evaporative emmision control system and not used on all cars. If it's bothering you by being open put a rubber plug on it.

That dirty little 2 barrel will eventually be replaced with an EFI system. The whole motor is actually coming out.

i was convinced that the choke will not work peoperly anymore when I plug it. But if you can a filter inbetween, hell ya go for it
