I cant find any guides. Isnt it all you have to do it trim it out a little to fit the cluster is there?

Cause the 65 gauges are fugly[:'(]

Will it need a new harness?

Nick, the wiring is entirely different, especially if you have a generator car. I don't think there is any type of cutting to do. If you look thru the FAQ section, there are some links in there I believe to dash restoring and mods.

i must have missed something here
641/2 are generator ok. but the 65 (later) are aletrnator as well and to what I can recall the clusters of 65 and 66 are the exact same size. I mean the cluster, not long tach/circle tach. I always thought they're interchangeable ?!

Default I put a 66 cluster in my 65.

In order to keep it easy, I replaced the under-dash harness with a 66 as well. Then everything plugged right in. My wires were crispy anyway, so that wasn't a hard decision for me. I have since put in an aftermarket cluster with the speedo and tach stuffed in there. I love that.

The instruction on the conversion are in the "Mustang How-To" Volume 1 Booklet. Seems like most of the major Mustang parts places sell copies of the book.

So you have done the converision to the circle gauges?

Was it a matter of just replacing the cluster and the harness. Any cutting?

There is no cutting to do.... but you do have to do some wiring to get the amp meter to work. Go to this website www.midnightdsigns.com/james/ look under the electrical section... hope this helps....
