Default Steering wheels

I have been considering for a long time now of changing my old original skinny steering wheel to something a little fatter with real wood grain, and yet not cost me an arm and a leg. I looked at Grant wheels, but think they look cheap and obviously aftermarket. I have looked at Deluxe Pony steering wheels, but they supply houses want over 300 bux for them. So, what is recommended for an original look, but in a woodgrain that won't cause me to sell a kidney to get one?

Yeah, it may be Mark, but as you see, it is a Grant brand. They just don't come close to the originals IMO. As far as what I have, have you ever seen a 65 Mustang steering wheel? They are very skinny. I guess if I want to get an original Shelby I will just have to spring for it, or put up with this skinny thing that came from the factory.

Yea, my steering wheel is pretty skinny too. IT's a rim-blow though, so I'm not ready to give it up.

I know a guy who only has one kidney. He seems to be fine [sm=violin.gif]

Just get a nice leather wrap for your wheel at the local auto parts store. These kind are sewn on using a special hidden stitch and they come with all the tools necessary. I have one on my Shelby since the original wheel is thin and in need of a good restoration so I covered it to protect it while allowing me to still use it. They work and look real nice. Pick a color that compliments your interior and give it a shot. If it satisfies you then you have a ~$20 solution with a stock appearance.
