69 Passenger Side Repair
I want to replacea rusted out torque box and floor support on the passenger side of my Fastback. I'min the midst ofcutting out the floor pan and I just want to know if I can do all this without removing the engine and transmission. I really don't have the space and it's very difficult to get an engine hoist where I live.My plan was to remove the floor pan and torque box, then cut out the firewall toe-board and floor support. Then install a new floor support then toe board, then the torque box and finally the floorpan. I've seen a few articles on this some removed the engine and others did not, I'm wondering if I'll be alright just putting jack stands under the framerail. Any other suggestion, especially about replacing the floor support, would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, you can leave the engine installed. You might want to remove the transmission if it gets in your way.
Park the car on a level surface and use as many jackstands as possible to support the car and keep it level.
