Yes What you're talking about is a 'cylinder balance test,' a test to see if any of the cylinders aren't contributing to the motor's power output. As good a place to start as any. If that doesn't do the trick, I'd start looking for vacuum leaks.

And Bullitt... thanks for the props. I admit I cheated though. And my car is much better in photos than in person. Its no show car but it runs well and looks good, especially at night... or in light like your sig!! I never would have been able to do what you are doing. No garage... no time... no patience... It all adds up to no skillz. Haha, that is why I've got my shop manual and MustangForums.com bookmarked and favorited. I just cant wait til the Search function works again!!!! I wonder if anyone is working on getting it up and running again or what is involved to bring it back to life. Hmm...
