Default manual rack

I want to upgrade my car to a manual rack and pinion taking out the old leaky power steering. I have flowtec full length headers that are very similar to hedman full lengths. Will these be a problem with the installation? I saw that flaming river is offering special heads for its rack and pinion setups but there 600 dollars and thats pretty expensive if you ask me. Is there a cheaper alternative to these heads or possibly a different rack and pinion kit from another company that wont have clearance issues.

I had one of my pipes rerouted to allow the shaft to pass thru on my hedmans with FR manual R&P. Do you weld or know a welder?

I did a lot of research on R&P when redoing my front end. I found almost every R&P manufacturer had a recommended header, if headers would work at all. Every manufacturer is different, so you have to call and see what matches up with their system. R&P creates serious clearance issues, so let the R&P manufacturer do the R&D for you.

Only problem is that they lie and say it is a bolt on experience. I even paid extra for the 'header' option and still had to have custom welding done. Just be prepared to do more than they imply. BTW, they really don't care if you have problems with fitment.
