I'll check in the shop manual when back home if noone beats me to it ;-)
great carb!

actually my manual won't say.
your carb is from 68 and my book from 64 .. so its probably not much help.
I'll list anyway what the book says, maybe we get more info on that.
what venturi size is your carb? (the number in the dial on the side ? 1.12, 1.08 ... ?)

kalli, are you running a 2 bbl with all that stuff in your sig? wouldn't some 4 bbl suited for your car be better? just curious how it runs with the original 2 bbl.

it runs great up to about 4000rpm. it starts to get out of breath there doesn't pull anymore
i have a 570cfm street avenger on the way and weiand 8124 intake to be delivered
I wanted to go with a 525cfm from demon but I got that 570 dirt cheap, so that ones going in

so yes you're right. the 4bbl would suit better, but I had to sort out the rear as even with a 300cfm on a good running 289 i pulled the original 7.25" axle apart. 8" would have done as well, but i thought if I get a 9" i won't have to change no matter what stupid ideas I'll ever come up with

i found some info in my 64 shop manual, but it's probably not much help

i have a 670 cfm street avenger on mine. I tell people to be careful with the street avengers because i had to put a new pump cam, a larger squirter nozzle, adjust the pump shot, and put a lighter secondary spring to get it torun just right. I hear from everyone who uses it or who have used it that they were too much trouble to get right.

my car was bogging and sputtering on acceleration when i first put it on thinking it would do as the box said, be an out of the box carb. i didn't fell like returning it so i messed with it for a while till it was just right. some research on what does what helped too.

hopefully your carb. doesn't require much or any messing with at all.

they are great carbs when they work though. I'm glad i kept it. it has nice crisp acceleration and i think it (believe it or not) helped increase my gas mileage because i can go longer on a tank of gas than before (probably one of the few issues among other gas issues). they say that a carb that is perfect for your setup and all that junk adjustment stuff makes a big difference in fuel economy. sometimes a 2bbl can be less efficient than a 4bbl believe it or not. a light foot helps too.

anyway, good luck. if you do need help with getting it right let me know, I'll help you out.
