Default Vinyl Top Question

I know this is the wrong section for this but I need an honest answer form the people who know.

This is for all the owners who have a coupe with a Vinyl Top

What do you guy use to maintain and protect the vinyl?

In the past I have used Lexol but with all the new stuff out these days, its a little old school.

Has any one used ragg topp from npd?

Any suggestion will help.

The best thing I've done to protect my vinyl top is....... park it in the garage. [sm=lame.gif]

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I'd like to know what others are using on their vinyl tops also.

Nothing lame about it, as soon I the sun hits mine the product seems to vanish because of the heat. I have been to a few car shows were peoples tops have looked awesome, bu they said they apply and rub out the top every 2 hours to keep it clean. (over kill?)

I put Armorall on mine this weekend. Couldn't even tell a difference.

I'm going to the Mustang Owners of Austin annual car show this weekend. It'd be nice to know what would spruce up the vinyl.

Armor all is what I use, but I also have some "Vinyl Top Conditioner." I have never used it and don't even recall what brand it is. My granfather bought it for the car over 12 years ago, so who knows if its even still available.

We use a product simply titled Refinish Restorer from a German company called Car System (carsystem.org). Unfortunately the site is not in English and there are no US distributors that I know of. We get it from my Uncle who sells it in Eastern Canada and it runs about 65.00 bucks for 1 Liter so not cheap. Works great on plastics, vinyls and metals.
My father uses it on his 72 AMC Ambassator and his black vinyl top always looks great. Dirt and dust blow right off, it always looks newly installed and is kept outside during summers with a cover about 1/2 the time. Apply it once and its good for something like 25 washes though he uses it once in the spring and again in the fall. I used it on the old black dashpad from our 67 coupe and it looks like new again.

PS.. I had a bunch of white marks on the black trim on our 03 Exploder from careless waxing. I've used 6 or 7 products now that 'say' they will remove these marks but didn't. Used this stuff last month and it restored the trim with no hint of the marks at all. I know I'll be grabbing a can or 2 to take back with me once the car is done.
