RE: $2800 Craigslist Find.
Ehhh $5k is still way too steep for that most recent one... "Still needs cosmetic work" to me Reads: "has rust or dents. fix, then paint entire car"
You still have not provided us any REAL info? What year? You said fastback or vert, but keep posting coupes? whats your budget? how far are you willing to travel?

Zach... we can ALL help you out. You need to provide more details. Year, bodystyle, engine, price, condition, location... etc... I know of 10 different classics in different shape within 30 miles of my place... so with more info we can all provide helpful info.

Im not too picky with these cars. I like anything before 1970. Body style is not an issue, I like both the coupe and fastback not to fond of convertibles. Same with engine. I will be content with any. As for condition and price. Im looking for something that runs and drives. Doesnt have to be in perfect condition, but I want it to drive. I also dont want to spend more than 7 grand buying the car. Can be within 50 miles of where I live, and I will be happy to go look at it. Further than that and it would become a hassle.

Well im also 17 and i bought mine for $1600 its a '66 I6 candy apple red w/ black interior..i got 2 replace the floor pan and pretty much all the body panels, the engine runs good with 155k original miles but its a manuel with a aftermarket shifter in it and drives rough in first..but i plan on doing a complete frame-up restoration myself (even though being a senior and playing football) it'll be a weekend project for me...
but anyway the guy i bought mine from was originally asking $2400 i believe and we talked him down..but if your not going to fix it up yourself id look for one in better shape for that price...As for mine $1600+likely to be 3-4k in parts to restore it..
so either plan on doing some body work, interior restoration, and talking them down on the price because of the work needed or look for a car in better condition.
