1965 Battery Question ???
Anyone had any luck finding a battery to work in conjunction w/this cover? And yes i know they make exact sealed reproductions for 165+-. Just can't justify spending that on a battery that will need to be replaced at some point.
COVER,BATTERY AUTOLITE
"Autolite" Battery Cover.
This battery cover is designed to fit over top of any modern Group 24 series top post battery and give it the look (at least from above) of a period correct battery.
Battery must be no larger than 10-3/8" x 6-7/8" with post centers no more than 7-7/16" apart for cover to fit properly.
*Dimensions: 7" wide X 10.5" long X 1" high.

How about just going to a parts place and give them the dimensions to see if they have a battery to fit your needs? Personally, I see no need in putting on a fake cover unless you are trying to make it look concours, and even then, it will be obvious that it is just a cover.
