Windshield washer pump
Hello all !!
I am the owner of a 1965 mustang coupe. I have the old manual rubber foot washer pump (non-motorized) system on my vehicle. The rubber foot pump is now worn out and has a hole in it. I tried to patch it up with some old bicycle tire rubber and that didn't work at all. I looked all over online for about 3 hours earlier this evening for a replacement rubber foot pump washer bladder from various mustang parts places and could not find anything at all. I could only find the electric-motorized single speed pump and parts for it.
Is there anyone in North America who sells these rubber manual foot pump bladders at all ? Or would I be better off to switch over to the motorized-electric washer system and order the wire harness, washer pump and modernize this car a bit ?
Also, if you suggest that I switch over to the motorized-electric washer pump system, what do I use as a switch to turn on the pump from within the car when I want to put water on the windows ? Is there a common switch on 1965 Mustangs that came with the motorized washer system stock ? ie. would the **** that operates the windshield wipers also act as a control switch for the motorized washer system too ? Do you push the wiper **** in ? or maybe pull it out to engage the washing system ?
Thanks for your help

If you decide to switch to a motorized system, you might be able to piece one together thru National Parts Depot. They show '65 components, including wiper switches with and without washers.
