it's a nightmare the first time you do it and putting it back on the cluster is even worse.
At the 2nd time you do it while driving :-)

I had no slack so what I do is to push back the front seat
Lie with the head facing up and door open on the carpet where you have your pedals
Shine up there with a proper lamp and you cannot miss the speedo cable.

There is a screw (throwover) big that you have to loosen.
When that nut is completely loose you can pull the speedo cable out of the cluster.

Beware: when you pull the thing oou sometimes the cable itself (metal string) stays stuck in the cluster. when you see that happening then try tu pull the cable out instead of the insulation. You'll know what I mean if that happens to you

when you put it all back what happens sometimes is that you pulled the speedo cable a bit out of the transmission. So before you put the gaugle cluster back make sure the speedo cable can't be turned (the metal cable with the square top). IUf you can turn the cable easily for several turns then you have to push it back into the transmission. You'll know when its in because it will then be further back and can't be turned anymore (apart from the cables windage)

Enjoy .... :-)
