Default Scratching and running temp question.

Well I've been getting burn scrubs everyday and that's causing me to take more drugs to ease the pain. Needless to say, I have alot of respect for the people who get burned badly. Mine is only on my arms and chest/stomach and it hurts like a ****. ANYWAYS

On sunday when I took her out, she ran well. Except I think i wired my alternator wrong. But other than that, she started getting what sounded like a scratching sound. No power loss, no engine stutter nothing like that. It SOUNDED like it was coming from the number 4 cylinder, possibly in the head. Constant sound, never gets worse, not a clanking just a scratching of metal. Any ideas on what this can be? A rod maybe running on the the side of the little keeper for it? It wasn't like that initially, but after a little driving it started. Just curious.

Also, for you guys running a 351W with cast heads, what is your operating temperature?
