Moonweasel: I just saw your post, and I was kinda thinkin' the same thing about the door being swapped out. Could you possibly post a picture of the area you're talking about with looking at the drivers side shock tower?

Thanks, I would go outside and check right now, but it's night and it's raining. I guess the "Mystery Stang" will have to wait a few more hours until it's solved...lol. I really appreciate your help though. I will post on here when I find that other VIN.

No problem. It should be a T code, Im pretty sure that means 6 cyl. Assuming the AC and bench are original, its a pretty interesting set of options.

Okay, here's the VIN from the engine compartment: 6F07T305854. This matches with the engine type. So, it must be a '66 after all. I guess the guy was wrong on the year, that's all right though The only thing I was wondering is how do I check on the original color if I don't have the orginal data plate on the drivers door?

For the original color, you have to start doing some detective work. Look under carpet, look in the trunk underneath the shelf behind hte backseat, look everywhere. Im in the same boat as you with a replaced drivers door, I found Ivy Green buried in the trunk.

I guess I'll be able to do that once I get all the parts out...lol. I was wondering also when I go to test the engine what I should do. What should I disconnect in order to not use the gas from the tank if it even has any? I have heard where you can start it by puring some directly in the engine but where and how much? Also, would it be better if I took the engine out first and put it on a stand and then try to start it? What engine stands would you recommend that are reasonably cheap? Sorry for all the questions at once but if I don't ask them when I hink of them I'll forget 8D.
