Lifters
after tons or struggles with trying to pull my lifters out i finally broke down and bought the tool to take them out, it was 25 dollars at salvos for a tool ill never use again....
i don't know if you are familiar with the tool or not but its a 1lb slide hammer that locks into the lifter, i even had problems getting them out with this, but when they reluctantly came out they appear to be fine....
are they good to be used again?
and i have no idea which lifter came out of which bore, does this matter?

are you rebuilding? is it just a cam swap? are they original?
if theyre new then you could use them again. but its a flat tappet lifter so they have to go back where they came.
roller lifters it doesnt matter.
but if they were that hard to get out, then im pretty sure youre due for new ones.
and if it is a complete rebuild, then you couldve turned the block over and used a punch to push em through.

bores are one of the most critical part on an engine nowadays. theres SOOO many cams going flat cause of the oil. so get some really good break in oil like joe gibbs to break in the engine.
and yeah make sure the new lifters float FREELY without ANY knicks or burrs and spin very smoothly.
