If those bushings are done. Then the shocks are done as well. I suggest new shocks.

FWIW: I recently replaced the front shocks on my '67. The shocks that I replaced were installed in 1983 (I know because I installed them). These shocks still looked ok, no leaking seals, bushings in good shape, paint still in good shape. When I took the shocks off they were totally shot. No action at all.

I think I will just go ahead and replace the shocks. I only know the last 16 years of the Mustangs history and I know very little was done to the car besides a new paint job and a couple starters. The shocks may even be the original ones.

Hey , I live in Canada and found apair of shocks at Canadian Tire. They just had to order them, I all so got a starter, water pump, P/S pump and a headlight. I would all so try the Partsouce here in Canada if you are near one.

KYB Gas-A-Just FTW. Very reasonably priced and provide a good ride while delivering nice performance and not stiff.

I wouldn't even think about replacing bushings with the price of shocks being as cheap as they are.

If the tops of my shocks where spray bombed like that I would worry about the mechanical condition of a lot of my car. Did you paint them or buy the car looking like that?

I just repainted the engine bay and cleaned up some of the rust, That was just some overspray. I was not to concerned about covering them up since I figured they probably need replaced anyway.

For the cost of the shocks being so little I will replace them, I was expecting them to cost more than that.

Thanks for all the replies!
