So I was browsing craigslist like most of us do, and found a door handle kit for a reasonable price. My friend who has a 70 Torino was talking about put such a kit on but was worried that his doors may be too heavy for the the solenoid to handle. I thought much the same thing for my 70 coupe so What would be the right pound of force needed to work for my doors? The kit says that the solenoids are rated for 30lbs but I'm not sure if that would be enough or not.

 

I'm considering shaving my door handles also. Are there any guides on the electrical aspect of it and getting them to open? The body work will be no problem.
