Default Header Advice

Hey guys I had a question for those of your that have done a T-5 conversion to your 67-70 mustangs. What kind of headers if any did you use? I'm pissed because I bought a pair of hedman long tube headers that I was told would fit and instead they don't. The driver's side has no clearance for my clutch cable and my power steering lines. I'm almost about ready to give up and just go back to the stock cast-iron manifolds but, I thought maybe it would be best to get an opinion or some advice on which ones would go best with my car without putting a hole in my wallet. Any ideas would definately help.
-Thanks

i dont have a 69-70 but cars with p/s require a steering cylinder lowering bracket. as for the clutch cable post some pics you might just be able to get away with wrapping the headers to keep the cable cool etc. and sometimes a hammer can be your friend to put a few minor dimples in header tubes

they were ceramic coated headers, I didn't want to bend or crack them in anyway. Besides there was absolutely no clearance for the clutch cable at all! which sucked! lol but, I dunno. I just wanted to have some headers but if it's gonna be such a pain to have them I'm thinking about going back to the old manifolds. that's why I wanted to know what everyone else was using for their t-5 setup.

you might want to look in to the hyd clutch setup a lot easier to work around headers. and its lower maintenance softer pedal more like a modern car. and then you just need the 15$ p/s lowering bracket http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...atkey=EMUSTANG

just a suggestion, since you already installed the header which im sure were pricey being ceramic it would probably in your interest to sell the clutch kit and go hyd my 2 cents

+1 to this. Keep the headers and go with the hydraulic clutch.

I spent between 200 to 250 for a hydraulic clutch setup that goes to our 4-speed toploader. I know there are hyd setups for the T-5 that you can buy in a kit. Cheaper than replacing ceramic headers. Do a search here and Google it.

If your going headers regardless of short/mid/long a hydraulic clutch is the best way to go.
