Around here I got it at a store called Farm and Fleet. I don't know where else you might find it. It works great on chome but I don't know how it would work on heavy rust. I put it on for about 30 minutes and then rubbed hard with a shop rag.

well i will try to find it because all of my chrome is like that, the po said he has something airborne in the barn that did that to the chrome some acid or whatever.

any way i tihnk this car wil be the death of me, since the last post i made i havent left the side of my cold, dirty, stinky parts cleaner. good thing is that i gave my intake man., fuel pump, oil pump pick up, thermostat housing, 99% of my bolts, push rods, pistons, rods, and caps a good cleaning. now onto the heads, i will probly do this tomorrow

I used to sell alot of "naval jelly" rust remover when I worked at a hardware store. That krud kutter looks amazing though. My bumpers and windshield trim are going to get some of that for sure. Is there a clear coat you can put on the chrome to prevent reocurrence?

It has some sort of protection built in. I did wax the mirror. That was in May. Still looking good in December. This does take a bit of rubbing, and you may even want to put some more on the shop towel and have it some more. I used a fairly rough cloth shop towel...not a soft fluffy polishing towel.

I need to look for some of the krud cutter. Discovered new glove box doors are around $100 and a repo that probably won't fit as well at that.

So I pulled my glove box door off, taped up the chrome and gave it a couple of light coats but now the chrome trim looks bad. I could also use that product on my rear view mirror, center of my steering wheel and a host of other misc places.

If I can find it local here in Texas I will sure forward the information along but if anyone else finds it do let us know

http://www.krudkutter.com/buy2.asp

Looks like you can purchase it at all the local stores such as Ace Hardware, Loews, Home Depot, etc.

I found it at Home Depot, and an ACE hardwars store, but it says on the bottle that it should be applied at temps above 70 F, so It'll have to wait till spring. 28 degrees this morning.
