Default Rear End Question

So I found an 8.8 rear end on craigslist the description is as follows. I have a Ford 8.8 traction-loc posi disc brake rear end. Ratio is 3.55:1, 28 spline, 61" wide. He says that it will fit on any fox body style. I was wondering if this would fit under my 70 coupe? And if not what I would need to do to make it fit.

70 mustang is 59 1/4" wide, with 61" your wheels would stick out or you would need to shorten it, and more than likely have to move spring perches

It wouldnt be a matter of just moving spring pearches, you would need to go and buy some to weld on. The fox body mustang does not use leaf springs, it uses a 4-link system. Because of that, the rear end that you would be buying would have extra brackets that would need to be cut off as well.

You could buy wheels with 1" more backspacing to correct the extra 1.75" of length in the differential...

Dunno about mounting. Sounds like an explorer rear though

From a fox body you gotta cut all the mounting tabs off weld on spring perches and probably shorten it too.To me if im doing all that work in getting a 9 inch or dana 60.
