I'm probably going to go with the 88308 Hedman elites. They are within my header budget and are coated plus they have thicker flanges and tubing.

Has anyone ever had these headers?

Summit actually does list them for the Mustang and they say "thermal coated" not "ceramic coated". I'm not sure what that means, but for the price, you almost can't go wrong. If you buy them, please post several pictures and let me know how they look and fit. I may follow your lead if they fit well, with the bonus being they a 1 5/8" tubes. My problem is that I have moved my engine over slightly and back 2". Combine that with the Z head's raised exhaust ports and it is tough to get anything to fit.

Wow, why are they $750.40 on the Hedman site and only $291.95 on Summit?

Their info states that Heddman 88660, Doug Thorley Tri-Y's or 268 will fit. Often most long tubes are too close but these are stated to work. An inch or more is needed. Also the coated headers will reduce the temperature and prevent the cable from cooking.

well, I got my Patriot H8433s today but there is a problem. The headers I received are not H8433s. The right side (passanger side) header does not fit. Instead of dropping the collector down it puts it right into the firewall.

The right one looks like the wrong one. Here is a picture of the correct one:

It looks like they packed the wrong one!

I found them on the summit website. Apperantly these are H8430s which is a discontinued part and superceded by H8433s. According to the summit application chart they should fit.

I can't believe some of those manufacturer prices. If you go to Flowmaster's website, just about everything cost more there too. I will say that 750 is alot more than 300. I was told that it is to limit the sales so that customers buy from their distributors. Otherwise the distrubutors would go out of business.

I will probably get these Hedman Elites. I'll post back later on if I get them. The engine isn't in the car yet. The 302 crate motor is being oredered soon. Hopefully, the Stang will be running before Summer gets here.

Default Cable and headers

I had the Hooker 6901, didn't work!
So I got Hedman 88660, these worked as far as the cable goes but the tube on the drivers side that is bent up hit my valve cover! I just read the comment about the Hedman 88300 so I am having them sent tomorrow. In the picture they resemble the Hooker 6901 alot, but hopefully they will work.
