Hi-po Heads for 289
Starfury is pointing out something that may not be obvious unless you are into or knowledgable about "numbers matching" vintage Fords.
On Fords of the early and mid sixties, there really was no such thing as numbers matching. They did not use the VIN on the engine or other major components. What is looked at is the correct casting number and the date code. The date code is typically a few weeks prior to the build date. Sometimes the date code on block and heads will be a few months before build date, but that's rare.
What has to be observed to prevent an obvious mismatch is that the date code is no newer than a few days before the build date.
I got into this when I was judging at the Ford Galaxie Nationals last October in Branson, MO.
So, just because you have the correct Hipo heads on the car, does not mean that they will pass a judges eye.
All that said, I fully expect that for 99.9% of the readers here, including myself, we just want a nice fun car to drive. The concourse, numbers matching cars are typically left to the independently wealthy. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not independently wealthy.
